Our Story
Bride's Story
Pastor Ibrahim and I met at the International Pastors and Partners Conference in 2017. To be honest, I have no vivid recollection of our initial meeting. Still, somehow, Pastor Ibrahim became one of my closest and dearest friends, almost as if he had been a part of my life forever.
Our friendship was unique and genuine. He effortlessly secured a spot in my top five friends, creating a space where I felt completely free to be myself. In hindsight, I discovered that the reason I felt so free to be myself with him was because I was absolutely sure that he was not gonna catch feelings for me. I didn’t think him to be about relationships or romance. It was a wholesome friendship founded on trust, understanding, and shared experiences in ministry, we sort of became a confidant for one another.
In August 2023, during our routine checkup phone call, Pastor Ibrahim and I caught up on life, discussing our experiences, challenges, and aspirations. At the end of the phone call, he subtly asked “PG how far with marriage?”, and I gave probably the silliest answer; I laughed and said, “Well, I can’t marry myself”, I then added “but I’m praying about it, and trusting God”. To which he replied, “Well, you know I’m in your corner concerning marriage, I’ve always been in your corner”. I laughed again and I said, “Well, okay, let’s see how it goes”.
The following day, we decided to give a romantic relationship a go. On December 18th, 2023, Pastor Ibrahim officially proposed, marking the beginning of our journey from courtship to engagement.
I should mention, that before Pastor Ibrahim expressed his feelings & intentions, I had been praying since the start of the year about this desire for a marriage, because I believed it was important to talk to God about this as this is an important aspect of one’s life and destiny. So the Lord had told me that the person was already in my world, a revelation that initially left me concerned. Little did I know that the person I had been praying for was the dearest friend I already had.
Our friendship blossomed so simply & graciously into a beautiful courtship, leading to a heartwarming engagement, and now we’re joyfully planning our wedding. I’m thankful for God’s leading and the blessing of this beautiful union with Pastor Ibrahim. It’s a journey filled with love, trust, and divine guidance.
Groom's Story
It all began at the 2017 International Pastors and Partners Conference in Lagos, Nigeria. Our initial encounter was brief, exchanging pleasantries before returning to our respective countries.
That same year, back in Cyprus, I reached out to Pastor Grace through Instagram. Her charm, kindness, and genuine character captivated me, and as we conversed on WhatsApp, our friendship blossomed over the years, bringing us closer together.
My admiration for Pastor Grace continued to grow, leading me to delve into her background. Discovering her personality, character, dedication to God, pastoral responsibilities and deep spirituality resonated with my values.
During a visit to Nigeria the following year, Pastor Grace and I enjoyed friendly moments, including a memorable outing for bowling in Abuja and a visit to her beloved Mum (who has now passed on to glory). Despite challenges and occasional distance, our friendship continued to thrive.
I felt a strong attraction and wanted to tell her about my feelings, but the Holy Spirit guided me to wait. Our friendship, however, continued to strengthen over time.
Then in August 2023, I took the courageous step of expressing my feelings and intentions to Pastor Grace. Little did I know, she was ready for a commitment, and our paths converged at the perfect moment. We decided to explore a future together, and on December 18th, 2023, after gaining approval from our respective Pastors and both families, I popped the question, and she said “YES”.
Pastor Grace and I are joyfully preparing to unite in marriage on April 20th.
This is the condensed yet heartfelt tale of how two friends discovered a love that would shape their lives forever.
